what are they?
Jazzy’s Gestures is a North Wales based charity dedicated to supporting children and families facing the unimaginable reality of childhood cancer.

Day Out Gestures

Our days out gestures are designed to create joyful moments and lasting memories for each child and their family.
Every gesture is tailored to the child’s wishes whether that’s a trip to the zoo, a favourite restaurant, an activity they’ve always wanted to try, or simply a special day out together. We aim to make each experience as meaningful as possible, working within our available funding to bring their ideas to life.
To help capture these memories, each days out gesture includes a photo journal, pens, and a mini printer that connects to your phone. This allows families to print photos instantly and create a personal memory journal of their special day, something to look back on for years to come.

Home Gestures

Home gestures focus on comfort, connection, and creating special moments within a safe and familiar environment.
These gestures are particularly suited to children who may not be well enough to go out, are recovering at home, or for families receiving palliative care. We understand that being at home can bring both comfort and challenges, so we aim to support meaningful experiences that can be shared together.
Families can request a specific activity, bundle, or experience, whether that’s a themed movie night, creative activities, sensory items, or something personal to the child’s interests. We do our best to accommodate each request within our available budget, ensuring the gesture feels thoughtful and tailored to the child.

Hospital Gestures
Hospital gestures are designed to provide comfort, connection, and support during what can be a very difficult and isolating time.
For children who have been diagnosed within the last three months, we offer the opportunity to request an electronic device or a personalised activity bundle.
An electronic device can support education, help children stay connected with family and friends, and provide entertainment during long stays. Alternatively, families may request a bundle based on the child’s favourite activities, such as LEGO, crafts, games, or hands-on kits, helping to bring comfort and enjoyment into the hospital environment.
We also recognise the emotional toll that hospital stays can have on parents and carers. If a child has been in hospital for more than seven days, we offer a small pamper hamper for parents, a simple gesture to support their wellbeing and remind them to take a moment for themselves during a very challenging time.
Our aim is to bring a sense of normality, comfort, and care to both children and their families when they need it most.

The Butterfly Gesture is a dedicated gesture for bereaved families who have lost a child to childhood cancer. This is a recently introduced gesture created to support families as they navigate life after loss.
This gesture is completely tailored to the family and their individual wishes. It may be something for siblings, parents, or carers.
Families can request something that feels meaningful to them. This might be a day out for siblings, a visit to a favourite restaurant, or a special experience that allows the family to spend time together and create gentle moments of connection.
If going out doesn’t feel right, families can also request something to enjoy at home. This could be a personalised activity or a comfort bundle.
Our aim with the Butterfly Gesture is to offer kindness, care, and flexibility, allowing families to choose what feels most supportive for them during an incredibly difficult time.
